“We literally sat in our car for 30 minutes before walking into the Food Bank… because we couldn't bring ourselves to admit we were this bad off. We are usually the ones to donate and volunteer, not those who need the assistance.”
Hunger and food insecurity can easily go unnoticed. A neighbor, coworker, or friend who has always been a supporter and provider can suddenly find themselves in need. Your generosity makes it easier to ask for help by guaranteeing kind, dignified assistance.
Mendo Food Network now reaches every corner of Mendocino County. We are proud to serve in this vital safety-net role, but we can’t do it without your help. Your year-end gift guarantees we have the resources to support the increasing number of residents visiting food banks, pantries, and pop-ups, as well as those relying on our other programs in senior communities and schools.
Your donation is also an investment in our community. It helps us maintain and enhance our infrastructure, ranging from generators at the Willits Warehouse to the freezers and refrigerators that keep food safe and ensure we’re prepared for emergencies and surges in need.
This year, we are continuing our partnership with the Fort Bragg Advocate-News to help you honor someone special with your gift of remembrance or tribute. As part of our Season of Sharing, the Advocate-News will publish a list of tribute names each week throughout December to recognize these gifts.
